Making a Difference

Kindness & Beyond

On September 4th doTerra along with Leon Legothetis, the Kindness Guy, invited its Wellness Advocates and customers to join the 15 Day Kindness Challenge. I took on the challenge and I received mixed results.

It was so amazing to be a doTerra Convention where the Kindness was contagious. I witness so many people opening doors, zipping up open backpacks, sharing, and more. My doTerra Team had kindness kits for those in need that had bottled water, food, and hardtack candy. It was awesome to see the reactions as we handed them out as we walked down the street.

During doTerra Together Convention Leon was one of the Keynote Speakers. I was inspired. He said, “Make people feel seen.” So I want you to know:

I See You

He told us to share our pain because we are all human. Knowing that there are others who have or are going through what you are going through is often beneficial. I know I have found strength from other Domestic Violence Warriors. Each of our experiences are different, but I have learned something valuable from each one.

My favorite quote from Leon was, “True Wealth is not in your wallet, it is in your heart.” Kindness is FREE. Kindness is as simple as a smile, a complement, a hug, etc. When you are kind it everyone wins. You don’t know who else it will effect, but it changes lives.

He also talked about being kind and gentle to ourselves. As he was talking recognized areas in my life that I can improve.

I loved when he said we could ask his ex-girls friends and then went on to say, “I may not always be nice, but I can do my best to be kind.” That is profound to me.  It brings to mind forgiveness. Being kind to ourselves and others requires forgiveness when we are not nice.

I look forward to daily finding new ways to be kind. I also look forward to hearing stories from others.
