💧 From Curious to Confident: 100 Ways to Use Your Oils 💧

Ever stared at your essential oil bottles and thought, “What now?” You’re not alone! That question is exactly what inspired our most recent class: 100 Uses for Essential Oils—and what a class it was!

Whether you’re brand new to essential oils or you’ve got a collection that rivals a small apothecary, this class was designed to take your oil use from hesitant to heck yes!

We laughed, we learned, we sniffed, we blended—and yes, we discovered dozens of ways to stop letting our oils gather dust and start letting them do the work they were made to do.

🌿 What We Covered: A Quick Recap

Our class was based on the super-handy guide 100 Uses for Essential Oils, and WOW—there’s a lot packed into that little booklet. Here’s how we broke it down in class:

✨ The Three Main Ways to Use Oils

  1. Aromatic: Think diffusers, room sprays, and breathing in oils straight from your hands. We demoed some mood-boosting blends and even made a linen spray!
  2. Topical: From head tension to bug bites to glowing skin—applying oils directly (with proper dilution) is a game-changer.
  3. Internal: Yep, you can safely take some oils internally! Think Lemon in your water or DigestZen in a veggie cap for those tricky tummy days.

🌀 10 Everyday Categories That Covered It All:

We walked through 10 main areas where essential oils shine—and how YOU can put them to work in your everyday life:

  1. Aromatic Use – Create uplifting or calming environments with just a few drops.
  2. Topical Use – Rollers, massage blends, and tension-targeting tricks.
  3. Internal Use – Gentle ways to support your immune and digestive systems.
  4. Cooking – Elevate flavor and health with oils like Basil, Lemon, and Cinnamon.
  5. Cleaning – Safe, non-toxic DIYs that leave your space sparkling and fresh.

Let’s start off with some tasty treats to share with family and friends.

Here are some great upcycling crafts prepared by Dana Marshall a member of the AromaVibe.

Potpourri Diffuser

Step 1: start with a mason jar that has air holes in it.

Step 2: gather your potpourri and decorations that you want to use inside your jar diffuser I used: • pinecones • evergreen sprigs • slice of wood • small balls

Step 3: Add essential oil to the pieces in your potpourri that will absorb essential oil (such as wood slices and pinecones)
Tip: The amount of essential oil you use will vary by the size of your jar. For the large jar in these photos, I use about 20-25 drops essential oil.
Tip: You can add more essential oils to refresh the potpourri when the essential oil scent dissipates. Depending on the strength of the oils, the size of the jar, and the size of the room that the diffuser is in, the scent can last from a day to a week or more.

Step 4: Layer the items into your jar diffuser. Continue to layer more items into your diffuser.

Step 5: Finish your diffuser by putting the lid on and tying a pretty ribbon around the neck of the jar. (Most of this information was found on Pinterest and I added my own twist.)

Twig Christmas Ornament

Step 1: gather your twigs… I found mine when I went for a walk in the park and pick them up off the ground.

Step 2: cut the twigs in various links from small to large. This will form the branches of the Christmas tree.

Step 3: hot glue, the twigs to a back by using a popsicle stick or another twig.

Step 4: you can put a star or a ball or a ribbon at the top of the tree, hot glue that along with a string to hang the ornament in your tree .

Step 5: Use 3 to 4 drops of your favorite oil on the twigs. You can add more oil as the scent fades.

doTerra Bottle Ornament

Step 1: Gather your empty bottles.

Step 2: Gather ribbons.

Step 3: Gather together, small decorative items . Hot glue, your ribbons, bows, decorative items to the top of the glass bottle. Leave the lid off the bottle so that it can diffuse the leftover oil that is in the bottle. Make sure to put a string to hang it in the tree.
