Changing the Collective Consciousness

During my life time there has be a continuous rise in Depression, Anxiety, Mental Illness, Fear, Worry, Violence, Blame, Anger, and Disrespect. The chaos we are seeing in our lives, our Country, and the World is because our agreement with the Collective consciousness. We individually and collectively have unresolved emotions that can also be referred to as trapped emotions that are formed by beliefs in our subconscious mind.

The subconscious mind is the part of the mind of that we are not fully aware but that influences our actions and feelings and creates our belief system. The subconscious mind helps us remember how to do what we have already learned and creates programs based on what worked or didn’t for us in the past. The subconscious mind creates programs to keep us physically and emotionally “safe”. Consider that many of the beliefs and programs in our subconscious mind where formed before adolescence. Then the subconscious mind follows the programs to prove that your belief are true.

We are generally unaware of these programs, therefore we have the tendency to run on autopilot.  As we run on autopilot, rather than reacting to a new experience as a new event our subconscious mind finds a similar event and reacts in like manner. If it work to react in timid, avoid confrontation each time we experience a similar event we would continue that programming of being timid. If it worked to react in anger to avoid accountability each time we experience a similar event we would continue that programming of being angry. As we run on autopilot we don’t recognize how our actions affect those around us.

M.Farouk Radwan, MSc. states, “The subconscious mind is a like a big memory bank that stores your beliefs, memories and life experiences. This information that is stored in your subconscious mind always affects your behavior and actions in different situations.

One of the very interesting facts about the way the subconscious mind works is that it won’t only affect your behavior but it will also affect your perception of events.”

Collective consciousness is the set of shared beliefs, ideas, and moral attitudes which operate as a unifying force within society. In general, it does not refer to the specifically moral conscience, but to a shared understanding of social norms. Just like the subconscious mind we are also unaware the programs running in the Collective consciousness.

The EOS Institute states, “The “collective consciousness” permeates all beings, affecting our attitudes, feelings and behaviors. We are all a part of the whole, just like cells within the body. They function separately, but also work together as the basis of life itself.

Just as the collective consciousness can impact you; you too can influence the collective consciousness for the better.

You are a powerful spiritual being, with far-reaching influence. The vibrations you put out at any given moment, affect the collective consciousness of all beings, in much the same way a tiny pebble causes large ripples upon the water.

As you transmit the higher vibrational energies of gratitude, love, and peace to the universe, those energies permeate the collective whole, transforming and healing the world on a cosmic level.
Not only that, but the energy you send out into the universe is also returned to you.”

We have to change ourselves to change the Collective consciousness

It is no coincidence that there is a rise in self help programs, seminars, and support groups. The Collective consciousness is pulling for change. We each have our own set of beliefs, programs, emotions, and behaviors that are contributing to the Collective consciousness therefore we need to start with self. Keep in mind, the subconscious mind can only accept new beliefs that don’t contradict existing beliefs. To reprogram the subconscious mind you have to modifying certain beliefs by taking action.

Tony Robins states, “Your mind is the key to success and you have the power to learn how to reprogram your subconscious. If you want to live the life you desire, then it’s time to decide, to commit and to resolve. It’s not what we can do in life that makes a difference – it’s what we will do. And there’s no better time to take back control of your mind and set your sights on something better than right now.”

Quantum physicists have been telling us now for several years that our bodies are really made of nothing but pure energy. Our thoughts and emotions also forms of pure energy.

Therefore I believe as we reprogram our subconscious mind and heal our energy we can change ourselves and as well as contributing to the change in the Collective consciousness.

Lessons From Nature

There are so many amazing lessons that we can learn from nature. One lesson I learned from nature was several years ago was that the sun always rises after the darkness. This was brought to my mind again today as I was on a group mentoring call with Kirk Duncan. He shared the following quote by Marcel Proust, “For a seed to achieve it’s greatest expression, it must come completely undone. The shell cracks, it’s insides come out, and everything changes. to someone who doesn’t understand growth, it would look like complete destruction.”

Kirk then talked about how plants do 50% of their growth in the roots. Plants have a strong base to be able to grown up out of the soil.

Another lesson from nature comes from a story I heard several years ago. Hugh B. Brown shared a lesson from his life.

He told of purchasing a rundown farm in Canada many years ago. As he went about cleaning up and repairing his property, he came across a currant bush that had grown over six feet (1.8 m) high and was yielding no berries, so he pruned it back drastically, leaving only small stumps. Then he saw a drop like a tear on the top of each of these little stumps, as if the currant bush were crying, and thought he heard it say:

“How could you do this to me? I was making such wonderful growth. … And now you have cut me down. Every plant in the garden will look down on me. … How could you do this to me? I thought you were the gardener here.”

Hugh B. Brown replied, “Look, little currant bush, I am the gardener here, and I know what I want you to be. I didn’t intend you to be a fruit tree or a shade tree. I want you to be a currant bush, and someday, little currant bush, when you are laden with fruit, you are going to say, ‘Thank you, Mr. Gardener, for loving me enough to cut me down.’”

Years later, Hugh B. Brown was a field officer in the Canadian Army serving in England. When a superior officer became a battle casualty, he was in line to be promoted to general, and he was summoned to London. But even though he was fully qualified for the promotion, it was denied him because he was a Mormon. The commanding general said in essence, “You deserve the appointment, but I cannot give it to you.” What he had spent 10 years hoping, praying, and preparing for slipped through his fingers in that moment because of blatant discrimination. Continuing his story he stated:

“I got on the train and started back … with a broken heart, with bitterness in my soul. … When I got to my tent, … I threw my cap on the cot. I clenched my fists, and I shook them at heaven. I said, ‘How could you do this to me, God? I have done everything I could do to measure up. There is nothing that I could have done—that I should have done—that I haven’t done. How could you do this to me?’ I was as bitter as gall.

“And then I heard a voice, and I recognized the tone of this voice. It was my own voice, and the voice said, ‘I am the gardener here. I know what I want you to do.’ The bitterness went out of my soul, and I fell on my knees by the cot to ask forgiveness for my ungratefulness. …

“… And now, almost 50 years later, I look up to [God] and say, ‘Thank you, Mr. Gardener, for cutting me down, for loving me enough to hurt me.’”

I am just know beginning to understand growth. As I look back on my life the growth beneath the surface did not feel like growth. It only felt painful and destructive. I didn’t realize that those times of complete destruction, being buried, or being cut down were just part of my growth.

Thanks to amazing mentors and coaches, I am seeing growth as well as areas where I am strengthening my roots and other areas where I am blooming.
